The sky was broken for the Redwood Renovation on December 12, 2022, exactly 60 years after the ground was broken to build the Redwood building, the flagship building on the Brewster Place campus. It was only fitting that the sky was broken for the renovation because a 6th floor was added to the original 5-story building. Along with the new construction of a 6th floor, the 5th floor and the 1st floor were stripped to the bones and completely rebuilt with new apartments and redesigned common spaces, including a new exposition kitchen.
