Brewster Place dining services will most likely have whatever it is that you’re hungry for, from a perfectly prepared filet mignon at the Evergreens Grill to an equally elegantly prepared peanut butter and jelly sandwich at the Redwood or a full-sized salad bar or biscuits and gravy at The Market, Brewster Place has something just for you!
Brewster Place’s dining service works from 3 separately operated kitchens on campus, each supervised by a kitchen manager, the director of dining services and a certified dietary manager along with an outstanding staff ready to serve you.
Each venue features a unique dining menu to give your palate a variety of choices.
Evergreens Grill
The Evergreens Grill offers a full service menu (now including breakfast!) – entrees with sides chosen from a list of 22 side items. There are weekly specials, a Sunday brunch special, soup of the day offerings (including gourmet chili), salad menu, a vegetarian menu, a gluten free menu and even a kids menu! The Evergreens Grill also has a lunch menu, a great list of appetizers and the most amazing pizza anywhere in Topeka – including gluten free pizz
Redwood Dining
Not to be out-done by the Evergreens Grill’s homemade pizza, the Redwood’s new exhibition kitchen sports a new open fire hearth baked pizza oven in sight of anyone seated nearby! The theme of the Redwood’s menu is Comfort Food – this is where you’ll find your family favorites like meat loaf, pork chops, shrimp scampi, burgers, sandwiches and wraps along with different soup of the day selections from the Evergreens Grill’s menu.
The Market
If you’re more in the mood for something quick and easy, the The Market is the place to head to. The Market is a buffet style where you choose your own portion sizes and then pay according to the weight of your meal. You’ll find a full bacon and eggs breakfast there each morning, often with a treat like chocolate chip pancakes, waffles or cinnamon rolls. The Market has a great salad bar for lunch along with a single entree and side ranging from fried catfish to chicken cordon bleu. The Market also hosts dinner after the weekly afternoon social on Fridays. Dining can be done as take out or you can dine in the adjacent Pavilion area.
The Market also serves as a small convenience store for things that can’t wait until you can get to the grocery store or for pre-packaged snack and drinks. There are also items made by Brewster Place residents as well as Brewster Place sway if you need a new t-shirt or coffee mug!
Brewster Bean
The Brewster Bean is a full service coffee shop located next to the Evergreens Grill and is a popular meeting place for coffee and conversations! The menu changes from time to time depending on demand and popularity, but there’s always something to munch on for breakfast!
