Striving to continue the balance of “the right amount of help” with the resident’s independent life-style, Brewster Place’s Frontier neighborhood team is especially attuned to the unique needs of our residents that deal with memory and cognitive-related challenges.
Brewster Place regularly provides continuing education training in Dementia Care for our care teams in order to stay current with memory-related issues and to learn new and effective ways of engaging with our residents.
The Frontier neighborhood is specialized to assure safety, security and peace of mind. We foster a warm, community experience that is rich with meaningful opportunities for keeping our residents engaged in daily life, based on the resident’s individual lifestyle and preferences.

Daily Life
The Frontier Neighborhood is a secured floor on the second level, above the Monarch neighborhood. The floorplan is the same as the Monarch neighborhood, offering a studio-size room (approx. 270 sq ft) and one-bedroom apartments (approx. 545 sq ft).
A regular day in the Frontier neighborhood is full of opportunities for engagement designed to stimulate the resident’s interests and abilities. Residents can choose their own menu for each of their 3 meals and snacks. Crafting in the living room, going for a stroll through our lovely greenspaces and gardens or taking the weekly bus tour to visit a local attraction are some other choices available to our Frontier residents. There is rarely a dull moment in the Frontier Neighborhood!
Of course, there are appointments to be kept, sometimes with one of our skilled therapists here on campus, or an off-campus appointment chauffeured by Brewster Place’s transportation service. If needed, in-home lab work and x-ray services are also available.
Other amenities enjoyed by Frontier residents include a Life-Alert pendant, a one-on-one team member on all “out-side” excursions, weekly cleaning and laundry (even ironed and folded!), basic cable, wi-fi and telephone – residents can even bring the phone number that they already know!
